One Plus Partnership sculpt curved walls inspired by rough seas

Hong Kong based architecture firm One Plus Partnership are the creative behind the curvy new Coastal Club, a membership-only restaurant and lounge in Wuxi.

One Plus Directors Ajax Law Ling Kit and Virginia Lung sculpted wave-live forms throughout the space, employing warm tones and metallic walls to represent the idea of rough seas. The walls are broken into five significant parts, each part curves on its own path, creating a visually stimulating effect. The neutral-toned carpet mimics the wavy motion of the walls with its striped pattern that also resembles a map of the ocean floor.

Spatially, the curvatures of the walls create intimate pockets for private conversation areas and functions as acoustical elements given the nature of their form. One Plus’ wavy interiors of Coastal Club evoke a sense of movement and warmth, two fantastic elements for this tucked-away watering hole.
