Del Toro x Snarkitecture Alto Chukka Sneaker

The Italian sneaker makers over at Del Toro have teamed up with Brooklyn-based creative studio Snarkitecture to reinvent the company's most popular shoe, the Alto Chukka. Artist duo Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen, founders of Snarkitecture, have put an unexpected spin on the limited edition sneaker - they inverted it entirely. The materials of the shoe are flipped inside-out: reflective 3M material lines the inside, while white leather that usually lines the inside of the chukka outfits the outer. The material overlaps, stitching, and printing are all transferred to the exterior of the shoe.

It's a striking move with subtile effects. On first appearance, the sneaker appears like a white leather chukka, but when you look closer, you notice the fabric's reflective appearance around the edges of the material, the 'MADE IN ITALY" the shoe size, and 'SNARKITECTURE' stamped on the outside of the shoe.

Snarkitecture and Del Toro are joining together on February 6th at The Standard NY to celebrate the release of the new collaboration and unveil the inverted sneaker, available here.
