Cadillac Reaveals the 2015 ATS Coupe

March 05, 2014/ Ashley Nelson

This post is in partnership with Cadillac. The All New ATS Coupe has arrived. Check it out here. #ATSCoupe

Caddies aren’t just for rappers anymore. Gone are the days of music video cameos, hapless hydraulics and rolling on 20’s. The Cadillac ATS Coupe has arrived and it’s a whole new ball game. Following the brand’s tradition of dynamic luxury coupes, the ATS is the Cadillac’s first compact luxury coupe AND one of the lightest, most agile models to date.

Sleek and streamlined, the ATS Coupe reinforces Cadillac’s sport heritage. It was designed to enhance the driving experience, but it proves to handle much more than simply driving. The Coupe caters to our increasingly connected and super duper cyber-centric lives. How, you ask? We’ll tell you.

You can quite literally “ghost ride your whip” from outside the vehicle. Yep, you can actually start the car remotely from around the corner with your smartphone. Or, you know just escape from an unfortunate Match.com date at a full-out sprint (*Cue tire burnout).

The Coupe also doubles as Wi-Fi hotspot that can become a mobile superhero command center hub, connecting up to s-e-v-e-n devices at once. (Yes, you read that correctly). There’s an LCD touchscreen to download apps, or organize and delete existing apps. The initial list of apps include iHeartRadio, Priceline.com, the Weather Channel, NPR, Slacker Radio, TuneIn Radio, Cityseeker, Eventseeker, Glympse and Kaliki, to name a few.

So the Coupe is digitally up to date. But what about the undercarriage? Let’s talk about what’s going on under the hood for a minute. Performance-wise, it’s quicker, nimbler, and quite frankly, more fun to drive. Designed to be lighter and more agile than its competitors, the 2.0L Turbo model is both lighter and more powerful than the BMW 428i. True story. It has a nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance and low center of gravity.

Well there you have it folks. The new Cadillac Coupe ATS. Ghost ride it. Escape ill-fated dalliances from a distance. Do what you please. It’s equipped to handle it all.
