Vancouver-based designers D Calen Knauf and Conrad Brown crossed paths while skateboarding in 2001, when they discovered a mutual appreciation for shapes, colors, textures and crafting. The duo have been collaborating ever since.
Their Vancouver based design studio, Knauf and Conrad, is an outlet for the designers to study space and the objects that surround life. Their most recent creation, the Florist Chair is a contemporary wingback that collides blocky angular shapes with curved shapes to create a smooth, wooden seat.
Even though the chair was designed exclusively for two sister restaurants in Vancouver, it will be on display at Sight Unseen OFFSITE during New York City’s Design Week. Stop into OFFSITE to see it up close.
