Working Vacation: Brandbase Office by Bricks Amsterdam

While personal relationships drift ever further away from actual social engagement, work environments are becoming more communal.  Bricks Amsterdam flips the cubicle into a public place at the new Brandbase offices/hotel in Amsterdam.

Based on the configuration and atmosphere of a hotel lobby, the concept for the space was born from the general idea that people often get their best work done outside the office. Bricks Amsterdam designed a modern open floor plan that includes a large kitchen, bar, and lounge area in addition to a conference room-esque designated work area. Employees are free to roam as it were, finding productivity and engagement with co-workers wherever they feel most comfortable.

Community is key in the layout of the interior, which features cozy two-tops in the bar area, a kitchen island surrounded by stools, comfy lounge furniture huddled together for intimate conversation, and even a small rooftop patio for private meetings and impressing clients with a spectacular view. Cool colors and clean lines are kept accessible by vintage accents like the plaques behind the bar, warm wood and leather furniture, and hanging Edison bulbs which are a far cry from the flickering fluorescent of old.

With the help of Bricks Amsterdam, Brandbase has invested in the happiness of their employees and shown a wider commitment to their motto of making people (not only clients) smile.
