Geometry 101: Acne Studios Opens Up Shop in Stockholm

In collaboration with award-winning British furniture designer Max Lamb, Acne Studios have launched their seventh Stockholm retail space at the historical Nordiska Kompaniet. The new flagship represents the next generation of Acne Studios' shop fittings with unexpected encounters between materials like stainless steel, kilims and artistic light installations.

After a recent launch of stores in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, it is clear that the fashion label is determined to lay roots and outline a global presence. To the plan, their new 1,300 square foot store houses Acne’s ready-to-wear collection together with denim, accessories and shoes.

The industrial concrete floor is fantastically juxtaposed with a sleek grid of lights above - slightly tilted at an angle that deviates it from the ceiling grid. The store design reads like a geometry 101 class. Each object exists on its own plane, with adjacent angles that never bisect. Here, solid shapes and obtrusive lines create a space that represents the individual.

The store is outfitted with a spectrum of contrasting surfaces, such as stainless steel, linoleum and fluffy carpeting. Boosting the ultra-modern vibe even further are the light fixtures and the artsy polystyrene furniture pieces exclusively crafted by lauded British artist Max Lamb.
